A BD engine exhaust brake enables your diesel to navigate downhill grades
and mountainous terrain more easily and safely than using the  vehicles conventional braking system.
Adding a BD compression brake can increase braking power by as much as 500%. The brake
unit cuts off exhaust flow from the engine by closing a variable orificed, stainless steel
butterfly valve. Engaged by air, vacuum or electronically, the valve closes off the
exhaust flow, thereby causing increased back pressure in the engine. The backpressure
provides the retarding horsepower to slow down the vehicle on even the steepest descents.
The brake operates automatically, once engaged by a toggle switch, mounted conveniently on
the dashboard. The brake releases as soon as the throttle is applied, or the switch is
turned off. The circuit powering the brake valve includes an over-pressure safety switch,
and backpressure is maintained by a regulated orifice. Kits available for standard and
automatic transmissions. The BD brake is covered by a 2-year unlimited warranty as well.
