The
"Low Ranger" kit for Dodge 4X4 pickup trucks.

Whether you are pulling for work or play, the Low Ranger
will make life easier for you and your truck!
Many situations with your truck may require very
slow movement, such as backing a trailer into a tight spot. In these situations you may
not necessarily need your 4WD engaged. By engaging your 4WD on a hard surface, you risk
damaging the trucks drivetrain. The Low Ranger kit gives your Dodge the capability of 2WD
low range while keeping the convenience of automatic locking hubs. With the advantage
of 2WD low range, you can then back up much slower, easier and safer. It will save wear
and tear on your Dodge's drivetrain and tires while preventing costly breakdowns.
The Low Ranger kit will work with manual or
automatic transmissions. But this kit has a particular advantage for manual transmissions
by preventing damage to your drivetrain as well as drastically reducing
clutch wear. This is accomplished by allowing the driver to move the vehicle slowly in 2WD
low range without "riding" the clutch. (holding the clutch in only
halfway, allowing it to slip) Riding the clutch may allow the driver to move the
vehicle slowly, but it drastically increases clutch wear.
The Low Ranger is designed to work on any 1984 to
present Dodge gasoline or diesel powered 1/2, 3/4 and 1 ton pickup truck with automatic
locking hubs.
The Low Ranger system is easy to operate. The switch
is conveniently mounted inside the cab. Just flip the switch on to activate the Low
Ranger, or flip the switch off for normal driving. It's that easy!
The Low Ranger kit includes complete
installation instructions with illustrations and can be installed
in approximately 2 hours without removing any running gear components.
