"Cooling System Maintainer"
The Navistar 6.9L, 7.3L
and T444E Power Stroke diesel engines have a history of coolant
loss due to pin holes in the engine block causing coolant to leak
into the oil, resulting in major engine damage. This condition is
known as cavitation. Ford recommends checking and adding DCA-4 every
15,000 miles to maintain the 1.5 to 3.0 units per gallon level.
By installing the Cooling System Maintainer, the units per gallon
is constantly maintained by a coolant filter which contains alkaline
dust from a drycharged inhibitor briquette which provides corrosion
protection and maintains (DCA-4) levels. It consists of a filter
head, filter, shut-off valves and hoses incorporated in the cooling
system. The Cooling System Maintainer works on the same principal
as the proven systems used on all over the road and heavy duty diesel
applications. With the Cooling System Maintainer, DCA-4 levels need
only be checked every 30,000 miles or at 6 month intervals. Simply
replace coolant filter and add liquid DCA-4 to bring up to safe
level if necessary. The Cooling System Maintainer can take the guess
work out of your investment. The Cooling System Maintainer is for
use with all Ford trucks prior to Super Duty body style. Use with
serpentine belt applications only.
